Companionship in Action: The Start of 2026!

We are delighted to share highlights from a truly meaningful first quarter of 2026 at Inspire. The past few months have been filled with warmth & connection that make such a difference in the lives of those we support. We are so proud to be keeping up with the demand that we are needed. Our support services are for individuals living with DementiaSocial IsolationAutismAsperger’s, those living with long term illnesses and wheelchair users, and we want to help as many people, their families and carers as we can. We see everyday the positive impact the support of an Inspire befriender has on our lovely clients and the wonderful people that care for them too.

 A Season of Connection

Our befriending service has continued to bring companionship and comfort to individuals in the community. Through regular visits, days out, and shared activities, we’ve seen beautiful friendships grow. We’re also pleased to have welcomed new clients across Doncaster, extending our support to even more individuals and families who benefit from companionship and care.

Life at the Day Centre – Fun, Friendship, and Laughter!

Our day centre has been buzzing with energy and laughter! From creative arts and crafts to lively music sessions and gentle chair-based exercises, every day is filled with engaging experiences for our clients. This quarter, a special highlight has been visits from our amazing guest singers, their performances sparked joy, got everyone singing along, and created unforgettable, uplifting moments for all.

With themed activity days, heart warming reminiscence sessions, and plenty of laughter shared over tea and biscuits, there’s never a dull moment. Our dedicated staff go above and beyond to include everyone, making each day fun, welcoming, and memorable for all who attend. Every smile, every song, and every shared moment reminds us why we love what we do!

Supporting Wellbeing

We remain committed to supporting not only those living with dementia, but also their families and carers. This quarter, we’ve continued to offer a safe, welcoming space where everyone feels valued, understood, and supported. Giving dedicated carers time to rest, to get otherwise difficult jobs done, recuperate and spend some well deserve time on themselves, all while knowing the person they care for is safe with an Inspire befriender.

 New Exciting Things Beginning

Our Director Marilyn has launched Inspire Side by Side, a new community interest company. The name reflects exactly what we stand for. We work side by side with individuals, families, and other services, recognising that many people are living with more than one condition. Whether it’s dementia alongside cancer, Parkinson’s, or any other long-term diagnosis, we are here to offer understanding, connection, and support every step of the way.
Marilyn hosted a very successful launch day at the Eco Stadium, with so many friends, colleagues, partners and distinguished guests including Doncaster’s Civic Mayor Councillor Tim Needham and Sally Jameson MP, in attendance. Moving forward, Marilyn is hosting Peer Support groups, safe and supportive spaces to connect with others, share experiences, and find out what help and support is available locally. Whether you’re looking for advice, support, or simply a friendly place to chat, you are very welcome to join us. You can contact Side By Side directly on 07897 764061 for more information.

Dementia Awareness Sessions

We’ve also been successfully delivering dementia awareness sessions across Doncaster, to local businesses, GP practices and even at Doncaster Rovers Stadium.

These sessions are helping individuals, businesses, and communities better understand dementia, recognise its signs, and learn how to offer the right support. By increasing awareness and reducing stigma, we’re creating a more compassionate and dementia-friendly community for everyone. A huge thank you to everyone who has taken part so far, together, we’re making a real difference.

 A Heartfelt Thank You

We would like to give our deepest  thanks to our incredible team of befrienders. Your compassion, patience, and unwavering dedication truly make everything we do possible. The warmth you bring, the time you give, and the genuine connections you build have such a meaningful impact on the lives of those you support. You are more than just a team, you are the heart and soul of Inspire, and we are so proud of the difference you make each and every day.

We are also profoundly grateful to the families who place their trust in us to support their loved ones week after week. It is a privilege to be part of your journey, and we never take that trust for granted. Everything we do is guided by our commitment to providing care, companionship, and comfort, always with your loved ones at the centre of it all.

Thank you for being part of our community and for helping us create something truly special 💛

Looking Ahead

As we move into the next quarter, we’re excited to introduce new activities, strengthen our community connections, and continue providing compassionate, person-centred care.

Thank you for being part of our journey, and letting us be a part of yours.
